I’m leaving the country to get married in less than 10h, and I am trying to get my blog up to date, but I can see that I have way too much backlog. So I decided to post a couple of “preview” post, and a couple of others that have now been published. For those, i will backdate them. It’s not really the way I do things usually, but I really want to get all of this out there.

So here is a shot taken at the last wedding I shot this season, about a week ago. I have not yet post-processed anything, but this is an image I particularly liked, straight out of camera.

They were lovely, relaxed all day long. They made the day a lot easier (Especially after our car got broken into, the satnav got stole, and one of us had to wait for the police while the other one kept shooting the party and speeches!).

The day started with a really relaxed time during which the bride got ready. No-one took anything too seriously:

I had the pleasure of working with Rachel’s brother, Aaron, who is an amazing photographer of his own right. And so naturally, when he asked me if I would like to cover his sister’s wedding, I said yes straight away! I knew already part of the family which made it even easier.

Here is a quick taster of the edit, almost only B&W, as we are still looking at what to do for the album.

And my thought go to Joe who, unfortunately, lost his father a few days before his wedding… I know he wished he could have shared such a wonderful moment with the people he loves.

The Venue now… What a place! Right by the sea, in Cornwall. a lovely Castle/Fort turned into a wedding venue… Just Amazing. And even the weather was just spot-on!

Here are a few snapshots (Mostly BW) while they prepare their honeymoon in Tanzania for a month of sun, Safari and wonderful time as a newly married couple!

Anyway, I met Louise and Jo, and I could feel the warmth of real friendly and simple people in front of me. We had a drink, and a chat, went through the list of shots not to miss, had another drink… you know, the usual. We then went outside for a quick shoot on the river Thames, just outside the venue, and it was freeeeeeeeezing! But still, we had a laugh and all in all it was a great opportunity to get to know each other before the day.

And so the day arrived, and even if it was originally only meant to be a 2h to 3h cover, i took my second shooter of the day with me (thanks to you Ilana!) and we had a brilliant time! The family was all smile, the ceremony was really lovely (especially in this sooo nice venue) and the reception was as intimate as one could dream of!
