Editorial: Looptroop Rockers for Beatnik Online
We’ve had this one wrapped a long time ago, so it’s always nice when work you really like is eventually put out there. The Beatnik crew put together a great piece, and we used an opportunity while Looptroop was working on a music video in London to get some snaps. These were all shot on the same day.

Looptroop Rockers have been making music together for two decades. Their first live show had them rapping over instrumentals by Black Sheep, a group that rocked hi-tops, stone-washed jeans and colourful shirts, and called it quits in 1995. Preview: Glenn Lewis – At Five And Nine
Here is a a quick preview of the shoot with incredibly talented artist and friend Glenn Lewis. We met up for a day of interviews and promotion and I managed to steal an hour of his time. We tried to use the amazing venue that is Five And Nine to the full possibilities. And I am quite satisfied with the result. There will more to come in the near future when these get officially released, as well as photos from the show.

Every once in a while, as a photographer, you get an opportunity to express your creativity to the full, for a person who trusts you fully. This is the best feeling in the world, and I wish that every single assignment was like that.
Back in January, when the weather was still much colder than now, we came up with the concept for this. Kevin needed to create a single image of him that would then be used on his new website. We had 90mins together in the streets of Bricklane. The shoot went smoothly and we went, on the fly, through about 5 or 6 setups. Good communication all along. And we effectively worked together to create the one image that would fit the brief.
B&S Limited Edition: Back in print?
Blues and Soul magazine has published exclusively online for three years now, after being around for over 40 years. And it is coming back in print for a special edition to coincide with the Vintage at Goodwood festival that took place this weekend. The special issue includes interviews with Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves, Temptations, The Four Tops, Incognito and Noel McKoy among many others.
I have had the pleasure and honor of taking the photos for some of the features including Martha Reeves and Ray Gelato. Here is a sneak peak:

Photoshoot: TY This shoot is for this exciting project I got involved in some time ago called Beatnik Online Magazine. TY being such a huge inspiration for our Editor, Ali, it was a little bit of a big deal. I mean, we really wanted to get it right. We knew the concept was good, and although the location fell through at the last minute, Ali found the best replacement.
BACKGROUND: “Massive artist, mercury nominated – few uk rappers have such a influence on UK Black music. Plus he is one of my favourite artists so the piece is close to my heart. Listen to the Album ‘Special Kind of Fool’ .and a couple of extra tracks from previous albums. he has worked with De la soul, Arrested Development amongst others.”

CONCEPT: Intimate.. drinking tea… sitting at table of a typically English cafe. Maybe eating a platter of Sausage and Mash. Some candids and a couple of photos of the interview.
Photoshoot: Rox
So, Beatnik Online interviewed Rox this week, for a feature on their website. And we managed to secure an hour for a shoot with her. The concept was to take her to a launderette on Shoreditch high street, and shoot a whole series in Black and White.
She arrived with a big smile, right on time. And we started off strong! Rox is just the most smiley, down to earth and genuine person you could meet, and a real pleasure to work with. She was patient and very professional! what a darling!
